Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain an accurate record of all financial transactions within the SAGE accounting system.
  • Update and maintain the Nominal ledger.
  • Update and maintain the Customer Sales ledger and Supplier Purchase ledger.
  • Maintain and process all necessary accruals and prepayments.
  • Weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Process all Supplier payments monthly or according to individual terms.
  • Reconciliation of all entries into the SAGE accounting system.
  • Reconciliation of Sales ledger to external billing systems.
  • Maintain trial balance within SAGE accounting system, by reconciliation of all ledgers, substantiating all balances monthly.
  • Individual account reconciliation monthly to assert accuracy of the Nominal ledger.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Fulfil any ad hoc tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements.
Key Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in SAGE or equivalent accounting system.
  • Good general accounting knowledge, best practice and current standards.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is key.
  • Proficiency and confident user of MS Excel.
  • Professionalism and strong organisation skills.
  • Happy to work to monthly deadlines to meet current board reporting requirements.
