Our client seeks a Control Technician to join their team.
Role Profile:
To work as part of the engineering team maintaining and developing the controls, communications and instrumentation systems used to operate and manage the power station and gas systems across all Generation and Gas sites
Key Responsibilities:
- SCADA, PLC and DCS equipment controllers
- CCTV and access control systems
- Computer networks
- Digital radio system
- Reactive support with any of these systems
- Undertaking development and refresher training
Key Skills and Experience:
- Qualified to HNC/HND or Equivalent, with electrical / electronic / instrumentation / computing background
- Awareness of, and compliance with, relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and Industry standards
- Experience in maintenance and development of electronic, communications and network equipment and systems for control applications, control servers, Security & CCTV
- A clear understanding of the need for and the application of cyber security in the protection of control systems and plant assets
- Experience in some programming languages (SQL, C#, Visual Basic etc.)
- Awareness of, and compliance with, relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and industry standards
- Analytical skills which will be used for fault diagnosis and rectification
- Strong interpersonal skills, a practical approach to engineering and demonstrate the ability to work either as a team member or independently
- Familiarity with the Linux Operating System
- Holder of a valid Driving Licence
