Deputy IT Manager

Our Client is seeking a Deputy IT Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic input and support to the Head of IT and the Board of Directors as to the current and future IT function of the business
  • Lead/manage projects
  • Assist with the development of and compliance with information security and risk management policies and procedures, including data backup, personal data protection, business resumption, and incident response
  • Extensive liaison with the IT Director and Head of IT
  • Provide general problem solving and assistance on diverse software applications and hardware systems
  • Manage and provide the delivery of end-user training, consulting and educational programmes in appropriate areas to group employees (including IT support staff), ensuring the content, quality and standards meet global standards and local needs
  • Provide technical assistance by responding to escalated issues regarding errors, problems or questions about systems
  • Provide technical support for a variety of systems including MS Windows 10, MS Office 2019, Citrix, legal department applications, IP Phones and mobile devices
  • Oversee  the IT induction process of new joiners to provide the necessary training, log-ins and information to effectively use the Firm's system
  • Provide mentoring to other members of the IT team
  • Update, renew and supervise the implementation of software license
  • Ensure that appropriate equipment and back up facilities are available at all times
  • Assist with other IT related tasks as required
 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Recognised IT industry qualifications (most likely to degree level or beyond); an additional business qualification would be desirable
  • Practical, hands-on experience with system support, software/hardware and networking
  • Broad experience of IT
  • Operation of/transition to cloud services (at least one of these a must)
  • Exposure to document management systems within a professional services environment
  • Negotiation skills with suppliers and purchasing equipment
  • Preparation of and operating within budgets
  • Preparation of policies and procedures
  • Experience of working within a professional services organization is desirable
  • Management experience of IT professionals and liaising with senior business management (desirable or at least an aptitude and evidence of this ability)
