Our client seeks a Head of Business Development - Investment Management to join their team.
Role Profile: Opportunity: To be a key member of the executive management team in the Investment Management business, located in Jersey or in Isle of Man. To take overall responsibility for new business in the investment management proposition.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be located in Jersey or Isle of Man but will be responsible for all front office activity across both centres.
- To grow AUM in the investment products and services.
- To lead the discretionary business development strategy.
- To lead and manage the front office of the Investment Management business including line managing all business development and relationship management staff.
- To be responsible for attracting key new Institutional, Trustee and Adviser relationships to produce new business into the Group's investment management proposition.
- To set and deliver business development activity in appropriate geographic locations.
- To be responsible for key advisor/institutional client partnerships and seek suitable books of business.
- To be the senior face at key seminars/webinars and events.
- Set and surpass sales targets each year, and fulfil other objectives as agreed with Line Manager from time to time.
- Inspire, mentor and grow the business development team.
- Inspire, mentor and grow the relationship management team.
- Work closely with the Business Development Managers for Platform and Banking to develop shared new business opportunities.
- Drive new business projects and initiatives, constantly thinking of new innovative ideas for increasing sales.
- Epitomise, with integrity, the values of the business as part of its public facing profile.
- Organise and deliver key business development management information and statistics to the wider executive team.
- To chair and organise regular meetings on all areas of sales to ensure we are working as a team.
- Engage closely with our Investment Management teams in Jersey and Isle of Man to ensure that BD activity reflects the Conscious Capital investment approach.
- Liaise with Head of Investment Management to maintain and develop mutually supportive relationship.
- Communicate proactively with the Operational Directors and their senior management teams to ensure new and existing BD relationships are well serviced through onboarding and ongoing processes
- Work closely with Investment Management team and the Investment Committee to maintain and develop mutually supportive relationship, ensuring constructive two-way feedback and improvements to help increase AUM.
- Support relevant BD focused social media activity, including writing relevant BD and investment related blogs.
- Implement and monitor all relevant risk management and compliance processes and procedures relevant to the activities of the BD and RM teams.
Key Skills and Experience:
- A finance or investment qualification and qualified to be an authorised person at IOM FSA - Investment Advice or JFSC equivalent in Jersey.
- Exceptional presentation skills - to both small and larger audiences of clients;
- Excellent knowledge of financial services industry and global markets;
- Excellent product knowledge of all areas of investment management strategies.
- Confident; self-starter; ambitious; high achiever;
- Exceptional track record and experience of outstanding business development and sales team management;
- A substantial network of professional contacts in the financial advisory and fiduciary sectors in either Jersey and/or Isle of Man as well as further afield.
