Head of Procurement & Governance

Our client seeks a Head of Procurement & Governance to join their team.  
Role Purpose:
  • Supporting the Executive team to develop strategic plans and deliver against key corporate objectives
  • Develop and manage the procurement strategy across the Group to support the business to reduce and contain costs; evaluate and select suppliers; and ensure robust supply chain
  • Develop and implement strategies, polices and systems to ensure efficient and effective governance Ensure business processes and investment plans are aligned to company strategic objectives
  • Manage and develop relationships with key strategic suppliers and stakeholders, including Government departments
  • Support the CFO and CEO to communicate Group performance against strategic objectives to the Board, Senior Management, and the wider business
  • To support the CFO to ensure effective corporate governance of Group entities, to enable the Boards to meet their responsibilities and obligations
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage key supplier strategies and relationships, negotiating best value for the Group and securing a robust supply chain
  • Manage supplier contracts to ensure commitments and responsibilities are clearly defined and adhered to
  • Manage property portfolio including negotiations with landlords on new and renewal of leases/licences to ensure best outcome for the Group
  • Develop procurement controls and other corporate governance requirements ensuring they provide relevant proportionate controls across the Group
  • Provide communication and training to ensure that all Group employees understand and comply with procurement and governance policies
  • Provide relevant information to management within the Group to facilitate informed decision making
  • Liaise with, support, challenge and advise members of the management and Executive Committee teams
  • Various other duties, including project-based work, as assigned by the CFO.
  • Understand and comply with the licence and other regulatory rules
  • Understand and comply with the Data Protection Law a
  • Understand and comply with the Health and Safety responsibilities relevant to the role as defined in the Safety Policy
  • Work in accordance with the safety procedures and safe working policies
Key Skills and Experience:  
  • Substantial experience of procurement and governance or a similar strategic role within a commercial environment
  • Ability to analyse situations effectively and proactively provide solutions
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present information
  • Strong project/time management skills
  • Self-motivated and well organised
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Energy and enthusiasm with good leadership skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of systems, IT and Excel skills
  • Experience working in telecoms or technology sector
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies
