Our client is looking for an Indirect Tax Manager to join their team.
Role: You'll provide VAT and Customs & Excise compliance and advisory services to a wide range of clients across the sectors that our client supports. Your primary responsibility will be to manage your portfolio of existing clients, build strong relationships to understand their current and future needs. Identify opportunities where the Company can add value to strengthen its relationship and support the growth of the business. You'll be a confident networker, building new relationships to enhance and grow your current portfolio of clients.
     
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for VAT compliance for own portfolio and involvement in any VAT and Customs & Excise advice required by your clients, collaboratively working with Managers and Senior Managers to ensure a smooth and timely delivery of advice
  • Proactively manage your workload and communicate with the team on a regular basis
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures
 
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential
  • A strong understanding of and previous experience with UK and or IOM VAT and Customs & Excise regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of recent key technical updates and areas of focus in relation to VAT and Customs & Excise
  • Experience of dealing directly with HMRC and or IOM C&E
  • Experience of dealing with key stakeholders
  • Ability to manage a large and varied client portfolio
  • Ability to actively seek new opportunities providing additional services to existing clients
Desirable
  • Experience of building networks and onboarding new clients
  • Educated to degree level, and ideally CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent
  • A good understanding of VAT & Property
  • A good understanding of EU VAT rules in relation to cross border supplies
  • Awareness of Stamp Duty Land Tax
  • Awareness of VAT and Financial Services
