Our client seeks an Investment Dealer & Analyst to join their team on a 12 - 18 Month contract.
Role Profile: To assist the investment management team with all aspects of dealing, general administration of client investment portfolios and funds, including assisting in production of valuation data for clients of the Company.
Key Responsibilities
- To accurately execute buy and sell orders on behalf of clients, ensuring adherence to best execution practices.
- Raising instructions for subscriptions and redemptions in open-ended collective investments.
- To provide investment reporting and administration services as required or requested by the investment management team.
- To assist the investment management team with the preparation of written material on the selection of suitable securities for inclusion on focus lists, as guided by the team.
- To attend and assist at investment management committee meetings.
- To liaise with other teams within the business and third parties as required from time to time.
- To assist the development of the Company's reporting systems.
- Potential for responsibility in specific security research areas.
- To work in partnership with the compliance team and to adhere to the requirements of the regulatory body.
- To adhere to company policies and procedures.
- To bring any areas of non-compliance or non-conformity to the attention of senior management and seek their guidance.
Key Skills and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience working in the financial services industry.
- The ability to quickly develop working knowledge of all operating systems used by the Company.
- Preferably a suitable OFQUAL Level 4 qualification with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
- A working understanding of investment markets.
- Numeracy, accuracy, and literacy: being able to work with numerical data accurately with speed is essential. Accurately reading and interpreting relevant research.
- Technologically literate with an ability to adapt to new operating systems with ease.
- An appreciation of administrative, fund and investment management systems (e.g. Bloomberg, Alpha Terminal, Morningstar, MS Office).
- The ability to work as part of a team is vital, maintaining strong interpersonal skills.
- The ability and confidence to develop good relationships with clients of the Company.
- The ability to accurately execute buy and sell orders on behalf of clients, ensuring adherence to best execution practices.
- To manage the transaction process therefrom, liaising with back-office teams where necessary.
- A working knowledge of the management of investment accounts.
- Experience with order execution in equities and bonds directly with brokers, as well as via Bloomberg EMSX and other dealing platforms.
- A working knowledge of banking procedures and practices, where applied to investment management.
- A good understanding of the practical applications of investment services.
- Knowledge and appreciation of compliance issues as they relate to the provision of investment services.
