Our client is looking for a Manager to join their Banking & Money Team.
The Role:
Undertake effective and efficient supervision of an assigned portfolio of regulated entities in line with the requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day to day supervision of an agreed portfolio of regulated entities as assigned by the Senior Manager - Banking & Money Transmission.
  • Undertake on-site and desk-based supervision of an agreed portfolio of regulated entities as per the Supervision procedures manual.
  • Undertake appropriate preparation in advance of on-site inspections and complete post-inspection work including writing reports, recommending remedial action where necessary and updating the risk assessments.
  • Conduct business meetings with the agreed portfolio of regulated entities.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulated entities
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant industry bodies and government agencies.
  • Deal with public enquiries (including complaints against regulated entities) in a courteous and constructive manner.
  • Ensure breaches, complaints and errors by regulated entities are logged and reported to the Senior Manager - Banking & Money Transmission in a timely manner and recommend remedial action.
  • Research and write letters, papers and reports on supervisory matters and contribute to the Division's periodic reports to the Board and the Authority's Business Plan.
  • Review and contribute to proposed new and changes in existing legislation or supervisory policy.
  • Ensure internal systems and procedures are adhered to.
  • Comply with the requirements set out in the Staff Handbook and other operational policy and procedures
  • Work on special ad-hoc projects as identified.
  • Set an example to staff to maintain and develop a positive professional culture.
  • Undertake the role in line with the Framework.
 
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential
  • To hold or be willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification.
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development.
  • Extensive relevant banking, or equivalent industry experience in a compliance, assurance, risk or audit role.
  • A well-developed working knowledge of the banking and money transmission sectors and associated legislation, regulation and guidance.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels including the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information, to consider any associated risks and to summarise the information effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage a workload of varied complexity, to manage competing priorities and to deliver against deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare, lead and conduct meetings with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Proven experience working for a financial services regulator, ideally in a supervisory type role.
  • Strong working knowledge in relation to risk and risk frameworks, including the ability to identify, evaluate, rate, manage and mitigate risks and the ongoing monitoring and review of risks.
