Our client seeks an Operations Officer.  
   
Role Profile: The Role is for someone to assist the Operations Officer with day to day operations of the investment programme at the company. The candidate will be expected to understand all operational and administration aspects of the business and be a self-starter who wants to learn skills across multiple areas of the investment management business.  
   
Key Responsibilities:  
Investment operational oversight (trade settlements, portfolio reconciliations, reporting)
  • Reconcile internal accounting system to administrator, custodian and broker records
  • Review valuations to ensure accuracy
  • Place equity trades
  • Liaise with brokers, custodians and fund administrators to ensure that all trade information is accurately captured
  • Ensure timely trade settlement. Investigate and follow up any discrepancies.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of monthly investor statements
  • Review fund income and expenses
  • Assist with developing and documenting departmental procedures
  • Assist with the preparation of and reviewing fund documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and factsheets in accordance to internal deadlines and requirements
  • To assist on ad-hoc tasks and projects
  • Help in communications between stakeholders, investors/service providers
  • Assist with office administration tasks from time to time
Trade execution
  • Understand and action basic investment recommendations from research service providers
  • Input trades into Order Management System and track execution of trades. Follow up on trades and any breaks with brokers, custodians etc.
  • Perform trade execution
  • Follow up on proxy voting
  • Keep track of corporate actions (dividends/stock splits) and adjust operations inputs accordingly
Compliance oversight
  • Assist to ensure that the governance framework, risk management and compliance culture is consistent with best practices and satisfies local regulatory conditions
  • During the company's growth period, assist with the development of an appropriate structure and framework for operational and regulatory risk management
  • To assist in framing the company's policy and risk procedures
  • Provide assistance during the annual audit
  • To ensure that internal and external deadlines of deliverables are adhered to
 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Degree holder preferred
  • 3-5 years' relevant experience
  • Have a high degree of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player
  • Meticulous with an aptitude for numbers
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word etc
  • Fund valuation operations/admin experience
  • Basic experience of inputting equity trades
  • Trade settlement experience
  • Experience in using Portfolio Management and Order Management software (eg: Enfusion, Broadridge, Bloomberg, etc)
  • Experience in portfolio analytics systems such as Bloomberg, FactSet
