Our client seeks a Senior Investment Manager to join their team.
Role Profile:  To manage and administer investment accounts and to ensure compliance with the Company's procedures and regulations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • To develop relationships with both new and existing clients and to actively promote a positive image of the Company.
  • To ensure that customer service levels are always met, in a manner that is consistent with relevant policies and regulations.
  • To liaise with clients, intermediaries, introducers and other external bodies.
  • To ensure that all client requests are dealt with in a timely manner and that clients are kept abreast of developments.
  • To select suitable securities for inclusion in client portfolios, subject to the appropriate guidelines contained in client agreements.
  • To be responsible for a portfolio of investment accounts and provide investment services as required or requested by the client.
  • To regularly update and advise the Chief Investment Officer of developments with investment accounts under the direct or indirect control of the role holder.
  • Manage portfolios in line with IPS, all required mandates, procedures and regulations.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to all team and committee meetings. Share valuable information with the team, including educational, trending, economic and/or company specific.
  • Undertake all administrative and ad-hoc tasks where required.
  • Provide advice and guidance for investment opportunities.
  • Ensure prudent risk management control and adherence to all laws, regulations, and ethical conduct agreements.
  • To adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • To bring any areas of non-compliance or non-conformity to the attention of the Chief Investment Officer and seek their guidance.
  • To be available to staff to assist and guide them as necessary.
 
Key Skills and Experience:  
  • Preferably a suitable OFQUAL Level 6 qualification with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
  • With the above, qualified under the Retail Distribution Review (RDR).
  • 7-10 years of experience working in the investment management industry.
  • The ability to quickly develop working knowledge of all operating systems used by the Company.
  • A detailed understanding of investment markets and management of investment accounts.
  • A sound appreciation of fund and investment management systems.
  • A good working knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Technologically literate with an ability to adapt to new operating systems with ease.
  • The accurate reading and interpretation of relevant research.
  • An appreciation of administrative, fund and investment management systems (e.g. Bloomberg, Alpha Terminal, Morningstar, MS Office).
  • The ability to work as part of a team is essential, maintaining strong interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality are vital.
  • Maintaining a smart appearance.
  • The ability to accurately execute buy and sell orders on behalf of clients, ensuring adherence to best execution practices.
  • To manage the transaction process therefrom, liaising with back-office teams where necessary.
  • A working knowledge of banking procedures and practices, where applied to investment management.
  • A good understanding of the practical applications of investment services.
  • A good knowledge of the products and services offered by the Company.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of compliance issues as they relate to the provision of investment services.
