Our client seeks a Software Engineer to join their team.
 
Role Profile:
  • The role is to deliver secure, resilient, well architected technical solutions to support and meet Group objectives.
  • To support and maintain Azure based full-stack and integration-tier Java and SQL applications
  • Implement unit and integration tests to ensure code is fit for purpose.
  • To ensure controls and risk management processes are followed.
  • To liaise with other departments to determine and address their IT needs and requirements.  
  • To provide timely and accurate reporting.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Building and designing systems to support strategic aims for the Group's objectives
  • Maintenance and availability of applications and systems to support the Group.  
  • Updating and creation of documentation and standards
  • Adherence to processes, controls and risk management
  • Effective planning, estimating and execution of development tasks.
  • Quality of software and systems developed (deliveries, code and documentation)
  • Timely and accurate reporting of activities, priorities and escalation where required.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure their IT needs are met.
  • Consulting and advising project teams on the specific software, and other elements needed to deliver defined IT project outcomes.
 
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Experience developing within one of the following areas:
  • Azure services (API Management, Service Bus, App insights, Key vault, Data Factory, DevOps etc)
  • SQL Databases (i.e. DB design, queries, Performance tuning, ETL processes etc)
  • Full stack Java web applications
  • Appian or other Workflow/BPM tools/applications)
  • 3-4 years developer experience (ideally working with Azure, Java and/or SQL Databases etc)
  • Experience in analysis, evaluation, development, test and implementation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Prompt, effective, clear and concise reporting
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written in English
  • Experience working within project management structures and principles
