Our client seeks a Tax Director to join their team.  
   
Role Profile:  The role of Tax Director is responsible for all tax-related services provided by the Firm, ensuring that all matters related to client tax affairs are handled promptly and accurately. In addition, you will be required to set the tax strategy and ensure successful implementation to enable growth of this service to clients. Working closely with clients, you will provide local and UK tax compliance and tax advisory services to a wide range of clients including retail and private banks, fund managers, and a cross section of some of the global firm's largest and most important client relationships. The role will require liaison with intermediaries (law firms and trust administrators) and non-financial services businesses in sectors such as software, logistics, retail, hospitality and property. The Tax Director will be required to provide tax services to private clients including private family office arrangements and HNWIs.  
   
Key Accountabilities
  • Develop the tax strategy and ensure alignment to the growth strategy of the Firm's overall business vision and longer-term strategy.
  • Identify gaps in the market and spot opportunities to create value propositions for the Tax offerings of the Firm.
  • Ensuring the technical expertise of the Tax Team is maintained and reflective of changing legislation.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • As a Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve wider complex business issues from strategy to execution.
  • Provide professional services and guidance to help clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business.
  • Provision of expertise to clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis.
  • Monitors reporting and planning to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes.
  • Support businesses to enable them to improve their tax function to control risk and facilitate better decision making.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to leaders of client businesses to help them formulate their tax strategy, ensuring tax compliance, increasing post tax profits, and application support is available to them to achieve the best corporate tax practices.
  • Develop the internal skills and competence of the Firm and specifically the Tax team to really stand out as experts and enable the firm to be fit for the future in a constantly changing world.
  • Manage a small but growing team of tax professionals, ensuring high quality output is delivered by all team members in line with the tax strategy and overall business goals.
  • Look for opportunities to scale efficiencies and new ways of working across multiple projects and environments.
  • Drive and take ownership for developing connections in the local market and across the network that help deliver what is best for people and stakeholders.
  • Influence and facilitate the creation of long-term relationships with a wide network of clients, which add value to the firm.
  • Regularly review procedures and ways of working for all assigned tasks and explore efficiency opportunities to reduce turnaround times and maximise performance, whilst maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Delivery of duties in accordance with policies and procedures, Network Standards and Accountability Framework at all times.
  • Active participation in the delivery of additional tasks and duties, as required by the business, that aligns to the skills and knowledge of this role.
  • Act in accordance with the Values in all interactions with clients and colleagues within the Firm.
 
Key Skills & Experience
  • Professional membership of the CTA - Chartered Tax Adviser
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage change with a proactive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge across a range of tax topics and disciplines.
  • Significant project / programme management experience in a wide range of business areas and demonstrated success of delivering a variety of complex project assignments in parallel.
  • High degree of knowledge and experience in stakeholder relationship management at a senior executive level.
  • Experience of managing a team of professionals.
  • Good understanding of budgetary control and financial management.
  • Ability to maintain a high level view of the desired business outcomes with the experience to anticipate tax related risks and plan mitigating actions.
  • Good communicator at all levels and an ability to manage difficult and complex situations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong client focus and quality service mind-set.
  • Effective team player and collaborator at all levels.
  • Resilience and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Analytical ability to interpret data/reports and spot trends that aid effective decision making.
