Isle of Man recruitment agency, Search & Select has been going above and beyond the call of duty to educate and prepare Isle of Man students for the world of work.

Widely known as a reputable, well-established employment recruiter with over 20 years’ experience in placing candidates in quality jobs, the team’s wealth and breadth of employment knowledge is vast and Search & Select are keen to share their expertise with the young adults soon to be joining the work force or making career decisions that will shape their working futures.

Search & Select have taken part in regular school visits around the Island to prepare year 12 and 13 students in key skill areas needed for employment. The team have delivered interactive presentations covering CV writing, interview preparation and interview technique and provided students with an overview of the job opportunities, employment types and on the job training options available with Island based employers.

The team have also been supporting the School’s Core Skills Enterprise Project, by sitting on judging panels for year 8 business projects.

The hope of Search & Select is to get our Islands bright young adults to start and continue their working careers on the Island, to return to the Island for employment after further education and to give youth talent visibility on entry level jobs, apprenticeships and internships available to school leavers, thereby ensuring the continuous prosperity of the Island’s economy and nurturing a forward-thinking and progressive work force of the future.

Search & Select have also been available at schools on Exam Results Days to offer advice and support students in making educated and informed decisions about their future.

This activity has led up to Search & Select once again exhibiting at the Isle of Man Employment and Skills Fair on 8 November at the Villa Marina, Douglas. This free event is open to the general public and students seeking employment and guidance.

Managing Director and Owner, Search & Select, Sally Fenton, commented: “The Island’s economic sectors continue to grow in size and scale and to evolve, adopting new technology which presents the next generations with alternative employment options. Situated at the centre of the employment cycle, we are in a fortunate position to see employment patterns shift and prepare the next generation of workers for this change”.

“Search & Select are honoured to be in a position to play such a prominent role in the lives of our Island’s students. The future of our Island is bright and Search & Select are proud to be part of it”.

Search & Select will be at the Employment and Skills Fair to offer our next generation guidance on how to achieve their employment goals, answer questions, discuss employment trends and in-need employment areas throughout all sectors and offer advice to delegates as to the current job opportunities available on the Isle of Man.
