Our client seeks an Assistant Underwriter to join their team.
This role would suit an enthusiastic individual who has excellent communication skills and enjoys working in a fast-paced team. An insurance background would be an advantage as well as people management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond swiftly and effectively to Member, Bank and Solicitor questions.
- Prepare new vessels for entry and attach them upon delivery.
- Prepare Mortgage documentation.
- Become proficient at using internal systems.
- Organise documentation for vessel value amendments.
- Declare AP calls.
- Build relationships with Members / Banks / Solicitors.
- Dealing with member queries, both non-AP and AP related.
- Maintain the Association's ship tacking register.
- Work with Compliance Department to carry out the required due diligence (World Check).
- Other ad hoc tasks as may be required.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience in Insurance, or a similar role, would be desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to work in a small team.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Self-motivated.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Previous line manager responsibilities would be an advantage.
