Our client seeks a Client Accountant to join their team.
 
Role Profile  To play a full role as a member of the Finance Team, taking responsibility for the accounting requirements of a portfolio of captive insurance clients, with the opportunity to participate in Board-level activities and meetings.  While experience in insurance or captives is an advantage, it is not essential.  
 
Key Responsibilities.  
  • As a Client Accountant, you will act as a key point of contact for your clients and play a  central role in coordinating internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Working with the Captive Insurance Team to prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts including commentary and preparing semi-annual or annual regulatory returns.  
  • Preparing statutory accounts and acting as the key contact for external auditors, ensuring audits are completed within agreed timescales.  
  • Preparation of Isle of Man tax returns and IPT returns.  
  • Review and monitor cash levels on a regular basis.  
  • Liaison with the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (IOMFSA) and shareholder representatives where necessary.  
  • Preparation of additional key management information for clients such as regular forecasts and annual budgeting and ad-hoc solvency calculations.  
  • With support where required, advise senior management on the financial impact of decisions and present financial information at Board level.  
  • Contributing to the development of financial systems and processes.  
  • Participating in regulatory and accounting standards driven projects as required from time to time.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional environment and takes pride in delivering excellent client service.  
Essential skills and experience.  
  • Professionally qualified (or time-served for the right candidate).  
  • Day-to-day, first-hand experience of producing management and statutory accounts.  
  • Working to client and regulatory driven deadlines and organising various stakeholders.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
Desirable (but not essential).  
  • Experience in insurance, captives, or risk management.  
  • Experience working in a regulated or professional services environment.  
  • Exposure to Board or senior management reporting.
