Our client seeks a Chief Investment Officer to join their team.
Role Profile: To lead the Investment Management Team providing leadership and mentorship and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. To develop and implement investment strategies and portfolio management techniques to maximise returns, minimise risks, and achieve the company financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Increasing all assets under management
- Frequent presentation to professional audiences and clients to increase awareness and new client numbers for the Company
- Attendance at professional networking events to increase the visibility of the Head of Investment Management and the Company's investment opportunities
- Ensure that all investment clients are appropriately relationship-managed with adequate reviews, meetings and suitability checks on file on an annual basis
- Help manage and uphold current client relationships
- Ensure clients are being charged published fees where possible
- Review profitability of service lines and clients with time vs cost analysis when possible
- Provide strategy and direction in relation to profitable and unprofitable services with a view to exiting unprofitable services
- Establish effective and well-organized investment processes and set investment philosophy, process & policy
- Monitoring all investments vs benchmarks and risk adjusted metrics.
- Performing investment research based on economic indicators and market trends.
- Hold frequent internal investment meetings to monitor asset allocation, investments, portfolios, performance, strategy and future direction.
- Demonstrate effective leadership skills, providing direct reports with the support necessary to fulfil their roles
- Provide the team with effective annual objectives, regular updates on their performance and prompt and effective feedback, where necessary.
- Ensuring appropriate level of skills and experience in team, including provision of training where applicable
- Leading the team on co-operation with the compliance function.
- Ensuring that all guidance outlined by compliance in relation to the investment regulatory code is followed by the team on a consistent basis.
Key Skills and Experience
- Qualification - CISI level 6 / CFA or equivalent.
- 10 years' experience in a senior investment position with extensive knowledge of finance and markets
- Proven experience of all aspects of discretionary investment management, performance and risk evaluation and managerial skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and delegate them effectively when appropriate.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office & Market Data monitoring systems
