Our client seeks a Client Accountant to join their team.
Profile: To provide accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients. Preparation of periodic financial reporting in accordance with relevant accounting and industry standards and providing, assistance and advice on accounting related matters generally. Liaison with stakeholders, external accountant and auditors as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the recording of financial information and preparation of financial statements for an allocated portfolio of entities with completion in a timely manner and in accordance with the relevant jurisdictional client accounting policy and procedures.
- Maintain accurate day to day client ledgers, ensuring all transactions are in-line with source documentation, of complex transactions, flow of funds, multi-currency for all cash and non-cash transaction.
- Keeping up to date accounting records for client entities, paying particular attention to bank statements, agreements, invoices, contracts and other documents signed by an entity
- Liaising with the Administration Team on accounts queries.
- Preparing annual financial statements, solvency tests, asset statements and other ad-hoc financial reporting with accuracy and completeness together with additional reporting to meet deadlines for tax returns and jurisdictional annual filings.
- Preparation of tax returns for UK property holding with HMRC, IOM tax returns and any other relevant tax return.
- Providing first contact technical assistance to the accounting team as required Maintaining an awareness of changes to the relevant financial, legal and regulatory framework within which the company operates.
- Meet internal deadlines whilst maintaining a high attention to detail, accuracy and consistency across all client's financial records within the relevant jurisdictional accounting software, and MS Excel for checklists and additional schedules.
- Update accounts monitoring system.
Key Skills & Experience:
- A relevant qualification (e.g., ACCA) or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Preferably Fiduciary experience of accounting for company and trust structures.
- Effective communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Has an enquiring mind, being able to question, research, apply and share learning.
- High level of accuracy, initiative, exceptional organisational skills, and proficiency in accounting software, and MS Excel to Intermediate or higher level.
- The ability to pick up and adapt to various bespoke IT/accounting systems and banking platforms.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Excellent team player and willing to go the extra mile Ability to deal with complex issues in a timely and proactive manner.
