Our client seeks a FATCA/CRS Analyst to join their team on a Temporary - 6-Month Contract.

Role You will be responsible for undertaking retrospective reviews of client records to ensure compliance with the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) regulations. The role focuses on validating the accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness of client self-certifications in accordance with CRS due diligence requirements, including enhanced requirements introduced under CRS 2.0.
The successful candidate will conduct detailed reviews of customer documentation, identify remediation requirements, engage with internal stakeholders, and support regulatory reporting obligations by ensuring tax residency information maintained by the Bank is accurate and current.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform retrospective reviews of individual and entity client accounts identified within the CRS remediation programme.
  • Assess existing self-certification forms for validity, completeness and compliance with applicable CRS and FATCA regulations.
  • Validate client tax residency information against supporting documentation and account records.
  • Apply CRS due diligence procedures to determine whether accounts are reportable under relevant jurisdictions.
  • Identify missing, invalid, incomplete or contradictory self-certifications and initiate remediation activities.
  • Review and assess indicia and other account information that may impact tax residency determinations.
  • Ensure adherence to OECD CRS, CRS 2.0 guidance, FATCA requirements and local regulatory obligations.
  • Review entity classifications, including Financial Institutions (FIs), Active Non-Financial Entities (NFEs) and Passive NFEs.
  • Identify and escalate potential reporting inaccuracies and documentation deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate records evidencing all review decisions and determinations.
  • Evaluate customer information obtained through onboarding, KYC, periodic review and ongoing monitoring processes.
  • Conduct reasonable plausibility assessments of self-certification information.
  • Review documentary evidence supporting tax residency claims and entity classifications.
  • Liaise with client-facing teams to obtain outstanding information and resolve documentation gaps.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to remediation progress reporting.
  • Escalate complex cases and technical interpretation issues where required.
  • Maintain accurate case management records and review outcomes.
  • Track remediation activities against agreed project targets and service-level agreements.
  • Prepare management information and exception reports.
 
Key Skills and Experience
  • Experience working within Banking or Financial Services.
  • Working knowledge of FATCA and CRS regulations.
  • Experience reviewing client due diligence and KYC documentation.
  • Understanding of tax residency concepts and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience conducting customer remediation or retrospective review activities.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work within defined procedures and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
