Our client seeks an experienced and forward-thinking Head of FATCA/CRS to join their team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a technical expert to take ownership of a critical area of the business, ensuring compliance with global tax transparency regulations while driving innovation and operational excellence. You will lead the end-to-end delivery of FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act), CRS (Common Reporting Standard), and other relevant AEOI (Automatic Exchange of Information) frameworks.
This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, offering the opportunity to influence business-wide processes, manage key regulatory obligations, and shape the future of tax reporting within a dynamic financial services environment. **This role can be based in isle of Man, Guernsey or Jersey**
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that AEOI policies and procedures are implemented in accordance with local and international regulations.
- Oversea data validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation checks to ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare reports, certifications, and other documentation required for AEOI compliance.
- Lead and manage the annual AEOI reporting process for FATCA and CRS, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to tax authorities.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of global tax transparency and AEOI regulations and their application to fiduciary services.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for tax and AEOI-related queries across the group, providing guidance on complex reporting obligations.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams (e.g. Compliance, Legal, Client Service teams) and external stakeholders (e.g. clients, auditors, and tax authorities).
- Collaborate with client-facing teams to ensure accurate client data collection and reporting.
- Respond to ad-hoc inquiries from business units about AEOI regulations and reporting.
- Work with local business units to drive data quality.
- Work closely with technology teams to automate and streamline the AEOI reporting process, focusing on process improvements.
- Lead or support the development and implementation of reporting technology solutions, ensuring system alignment with global tax regulatory requirements.
- Conduct gap analyses and define system requirements for automation, data collection, and integration with tax reporting platforms.
- Implement data automation tools to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Monitor emerging technologies and trends that can improve the Tax and AEOI reporting function.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Law, or a related field; Advanced Degree or Professional certification.
- Proven track record in the fiduciary services industry in senior roles.
- 5+ years of experience in AEOI reporting, FATCA/CRS compliance, and tax-related roles within the fiduciary services industry.
- Proven experience in managing technology-driven reporting processes.
- Familiarity with global tax regulations, particularly in fiduciary contexts.
- Experience in Project and Change Management is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of AEOI, FATCA, CRS, and other global tax reporting frameworks.
- Experience with tax reporting software and automation tools (e.g., XML Schema, reporting platforms).
- Proficient in data analytics, manipulation, and validation using Excel, SQL, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting systems and standards.
