Our client seeks an Internal Communications Executive to assist their team on a temporary contract.
 
Role Profile: To lead and deliver effective internal communications across the organisation, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with strategic priorities. The role will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and collaborate across departments to maintain transparency and consistency in messaging.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the development and implement an internal communications strategy that supports organisational goals and fosters employee engagement
  • Deliver a proactive regular and ongoing schedule of impactful and engaging internal communications
  • Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of consistent and accurate messages to influence colleagues
  • Manage and optimise internal communication platforms to ensure timely and effective dissemination of information
  • Liaise with senior members of staff and departmental leads to coordinate messaging and provide professional advice on communication issues
  • Support the development and execution of internal campaigns that promote organisational values, culture, and key initiatives
  • Ensure employees receive timely and transparent updates during organisational changes or rises, maintaining trust and clarity
  • Monitor effectiveness of internal communications and provide insights to improve engagement and alignment
  • Provide horizon scanning on emerging internal communications issues relevant to policies and prepare appropriate advice / actions
  • Contribute to cross-department initiatives, as assigned; building strong working relationships with other departments and external agencies and to ensure the successful delivery of key events or projects
  • Think creatively to develop new ways of reaching and influencing stakeholders
  • Assist in strategic, cross- communications, with particular emphasis on ensuring departmental co-ordination.
  • Play a role in supporting other officers to have a greater understanding of communication requirements and to promote effective performance and personal progression.
 
Key Skills and Experience:
  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English
  • Diploma or degree in public relations, corporate communications, journalism or similar discipline  - Desirable
  • Evidence of continuous professional development with membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Institute of Internal Communication / Chartered Institute for Public Relations etc.)
  • Relevant experience in media or corporate communications environment
  • Experience in researching, developing and delivering internal communication strategies, plans and campaigns
  • Experience delivering an engaging and impactful programme of internal communication to increase employee engagement through multiple face to face and digital channels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to understand and translate complex issues into clear messages
  • Excellent interpersonal skills reflecting an ability to work/interact with contacts of all levels in an appropriate manner
  • Able to use initiative, manage time and organise and prioritise workloads
  • Competent in a wide range of IT programmes and applications, particularly the Microsoft suite of programmes
  • Experience managing and populating intranets, particularly Microsoft SharePoint sites and / or similar platforms such as Microsoft Viva Engage
  • Thorough knowledge of best practice in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
