Our client seeks an Investment Administrator (Settlements Analyst) to assist their Investment Operations Team on a 12M fixed term contract.
Role Profile: You will undertake the tasks carried out by the Settlements Team as allocated. The Settlements Team is responsible for the timely settlement of all investment transactions for the bank's clients and internal Treasury Department
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Trade settlement in multiple currencies across international markets
- Preparing documents and processing stock transfers
- Journal input and foreign exchange transactions
- Multi-currency cash and stock reconciliation query resolution
- Cross-training throughout the Settlements Team
- User Acceptance Testing for the Settlements Team, as and when required
- Proposing change in order to improve existing processes and systems
- Ensuring any settlement team errors or breaches are resolved promptly, with the required incident reporting and breach reporting completed timely and improvements identified to prevent reoccurrence
- Ensure procedures are kept up to date, as appropriate
- Ensure that any queries received are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner keeping in regular communication with clients/relationship managers and updating them with regard to latest developments and progress towards the resolution of queries. Escalating where appropriate.
- Undertaking ad hoc tasks as directed by the Settlements Manager
- Keep updating knowledge regarding international business policies and changes within the industry
- Keeping up to date with regulatory changes within the industry and ensuring measures are taken to comply
- Assist in project work as assigned by the Settlements Manager, delivering to any set timescales
- Provide support to the Settlements Manager and other team members
- Providing cover for other areas within the department where training has been received
- To safeguard client assets by ensuring client asset rules are followed for all appropriate jurisdictions
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of two years in an investment operations role (desirable)
- To have a good knowledge of investment administration activities, both technical and operational, with the ability to detect possible problems and provide solutions
- Previous experience in a dealing or settlements role would be advantageous but not necessary
- A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent, with a pass at grade C or higher, in Maths and English
- Holds or working towards a suitable investment administration qualification at level 3 or above, such as the CISI Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) or an equivalent investment related qualification
