Our client seeks a Manager - Banking to join their team Prudential Supervision Division.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake the effective and efficient supervision of a portfolio of banks.
  • Assist the banking supervision team (Prudential Supervision Division) in completing all deliverables and support other Divisions within the Company.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the Supervisory Methodology centred on risk-based supervision, including all supervisory activity and engagement associated with a portfolio of banks, ensuring the systems and procedures are correctly followed and utilised.
  • Review and respond to technical queries from banks and handle the various regulatory returns, including Prudential/Lending Returns, ICAAPs, Recovery Plans, Annual Regulatory Returns, and other Statistical Returns.
  • Implement plans to achieve the Prudential Supervision Division's objectives.
  • Prepare risk assessments for a portfolio of banks in Prudential Supervision.
  • Identify and assess potential risk trends and supervisory themes.
  • Lead and / or assist in the undertaking of stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulated sectors, regulatory agencies, relevant industry bodies and government agencies.
  • Ensure that public enquiries are dealt with timely and efficiently in a courteous and constructive manner.
  • Lead and / or participate in supervisory inspections of banks.
  • Ensure breaches, complaints and notifications by banks are logged and dealt with according to the supervisory procedures, reported to the Senior Manager where required, and manage remedial action to address in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the accuracy, validity, completeness, timeliness and consistency of data when processing in internal systems.
 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification.
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development.
  • Extensive relevant banking, or equivalent industry experience in a compliance, assurance, risk or audit role.
  • Desirable - experience working for a financial services regulator, ideally in a supervisory type role.
  • A well-developed working knowledge of the banking sector and associated legislation, regulation and guidance.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage a workload of varied complexity, to manage competing priorities and to deliver against deadlines.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite.
