Our Client seek a Part-Time Centre Manager to join their team.
Responsible for the smooth, effective and efficient running and administration of CIRCA. The manager regularly deals with the public and with CIRCA's Shop mobility Service Users.  You will be required to provide good customer care and to always deal with the public / Service Users in a professional and empathetic manner.  This may be face-to-face, over the telephone or by e-communication. You will also meet and interview prospective volunteers. Discussions also take place with other charities about their volunteer needs.
The running and administration include basic accounts [including handling and receipting all cash / donations received], keeping statistics [e.g. numbers of volunteers and Service Users], ensuring IT equipment runs smoothly, dealing with and renewing CIRCA's insurance policies, payment of invoices / bills, ordering office supplies as needed and overseeing office maintenance [including cleaning of showroom & board room as well as kitchen area and toilets, cleaning of towels and windows etc].
Publicity and fund raising will include the co-ordination of fundraising events, flag-days and raffles etc., assisting the Treasurer with larger grant applications [e.g. to Manx Lottery Trust and Department of Health and Social Care], handling / making applications for smaller grants [e.g. to local organisations for funding specific items of equipment] and attendance at public awareness events.
You will have editorial control of CIRCA's website and Facebook presence and supervise other staff, which currently includes a part-time assistant in the shop / office and two part-time maintenance engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the supervision / management of CIRCA staff
  • Responsible for ensuring equipment is always in a clean state and in good working order - this will be undertaken in conjunction with the assistant and the maintenance engineers
  • Responsible for ensuring Service Users receive the necessary training required
  • Responsible for ensuring the website, as well as social media presence, is maintained and kept up-to-date and liaising with the Disability Networks website coordinator
  • Responsible for organising CIRCA's Management Committee / Board meetings and AGM and circulating papers as required, as well as attendance at such meetings and production of Centre Update reports
  • Responsible for supporting the Chair and Management Committee / Board as required
 
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Experience of working in the Isle of Man 3rd sector will be of advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Isle of Man charities regulations
  • Comfortable dealing with people and specifically disabled customers
  • Demonstrates empathy
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to deal with awkward situations
  • Comfortable presenting to groups of people and is competent in preparing for such presentations
  • Organised and able to prioritise tasks & to multi-task
  • Ability to use basic Excel spreadsheets and other applications, including ideally social media
  • Competent and organised in undertaking administrative tasks with attention to detail
  • Demonstrates good supervisory skills
  • Ability to work alone and / or in a small team
  • Demonstrates good initiative and ability to solve problems
  • Ability to work flexibly - this will be required for meetings and occasionally at weekends
  • Has use of own vehicle, which will require business use insurance cover
