Our client seeks a Part Time Qualified Accountant to join their team  (20 - 25 hours per week -  Flexible)

Role Profile: Forming part of an experienced team at a small Office, the successful applicant will take responsibility for the accounting function on a day to day basis, covering a number of companies and trusts and various reporting processes.  Given the nature of the business, being a small team, the role will also at times involve providing holiday cover for other team members and therefore there is a requirement for the applicant to be flexible in their approach to job responsibilities. Experience and competence in the preparation and review of management accounts and financial statements (FRS 102A) is crucial.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for the accounting function and provide suitable oversight of a bookkeeper.  
  • Processing of payments and liaising with banks accordingly
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Investment reconciliations and liaising with banks/asset managers accordingly
  • Processing of day to day transactional accounting entries
  • Processing of month/quarter end accounting journals
  • Processing bespoke daily and weekly reporting such as investment reports
  • Preparation of month/quarter end management accounts
  • Preparation of annual financial statements
  • Key contact point for external auditors
  • Preparation of Isle of Man corporation tax returns
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Liaising with suppliers, and oversight/management of supplier control accounts
  • Other relevant projects from time to time as required
 
Key Skills and Experience:
  • A qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA), preferably “big four” trained (desirable)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years PQE.  
  • Have management accounting experience including day to day transactional responsibility for operational companies and the preparation of management accounts and financial statements for such companies (prepared under UK GAAP, typically FRS 102A).
  • Have substantial experience in the review of various reporting, including bespoke financial reporting, management accounts and financial statement prepared by junior members of the team.
  • Knowledge of the Paxus fund accounting system (primary accounting system used) and Sage accounts would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Strong MS Excel capability is highly preferable.
  • Experience working with MS PowerBI (or a similar reporting tool) is preferable but not essential.
