Our client seeks a Senior Operations & Business Support Manager to join their team.
 
Role Profile:  Responsible for overseeing the delivery of IT, facilities, office services, health and
safety, and procurement functions within the company. The senior manager will lead a small team to
ensure that all services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the company's
strategic objectives. This role requires a proactive leader with strong change & project management,
business project delivery, communication, and problem-solving skills.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring it supports the company's operational and strategic goals.
  • Manage IT service delivery, including network, hardware, software, and user support.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Lead the implementation of new technologies and systems to
  • improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to build a 3 to 5 year strategic change roadmap.
  • Identify, prioritise and drive transformational opportunities throughout the business.
  • Design, lead, and oversee end-to-end delivery of IT and Operations change initiatives with detailed project plans,
  • Timelines, impact assessments and performance metrics and outcomes for all change projects to ensure benefits are realised.
  • Schedule and chair regular review meetings with the SLT to update project status, discuss risks, and agree on strategic adjustments.
  • Promote a change culture by embedding flexibility, innovation, and continuous improvement across all functions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to support the adoption of new ways of working.
  • Manage change governance protocols, including escalation paths, resource decisions, and compliance adherent.
  • Ensure the maintenance and functionality of office facilities.
  • Oversee space planning and office moves.
  • Manage relationships with facility service providers (e.g., cleaning, maintenance).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within facilities.
  • Oversee the provision of office services, including reception, mailroom, and administrative support.
  • Ensure the availability and maintenance of office equipment and supplies.
  • Implement and manage office policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with required IOM legislation.
  • Conduct regular health and safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices, ensuring awareness and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Provide training and support to staff on health and safety matters.
  • Manage the procurement process for goods and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and management.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills, providing direct reports with the support necessary to fulfil their roles.
  • Provide the team with effective annual objectives, regular updates on their performance and prompt and effective feedback, where necessary.
  • Ensuring appropriate level of skills and experience in team, including provision of training where applicable.
  • Ensure that the team follows regulatory guidance in respect of data management and protection and have the technological tools to facilitate this
 
Key Skills and Experience :
  • A relevant professional qualification or certificate in IT management, facilities management or health and safety would be desirable or a willingness to study. For example, Agile Practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in service delivery management, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, facilities management, and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in IT service management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
