Our client seeks a Systems / Support Analyst to join their team.
Role Profile: To provide support (all levels) to the user base, maintaining hardware, systems software and applications for client machines and provide support for servers and network infrastructure, liaising with third party helpdesk or host provider where appropriate. Assist in maintaining and updating local IT systems, infrastructure and telecoms in a managed service environment. Analyse, plan & implement best practice within the existing Active Directory and Group Policy Management to simplify ongoing maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in IT based projects covering hardware, software and business applications
- Maintain accurate and complete procedural records, reports, asset details and change control
- Assist in maintaining and supporting every aspect of the IT infrastructure for its day-to-day operation. Maintain Active Directory and Group Policies according to best practice.
- Maintain records and relationships with suppliers and support agencies
- Complete routine maintenance tasks to ensure continued functionality and reliability of IT Infrastructure
- Client machine hardware & software installation and configuration
- Regular software maintenance including licensing and updates
- Work as part of a team to complete projects as part of the IT strategy
Key Skills and Experience:
- Good working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Management
- Ability to work both as part of a team and on your own with minimal supervision
- Good administrative, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn from technical issues and apply experiences to problem resolution
- Accurately plan, complete and document detailed technical work and demonstrate a quality work ethos
- Self-motivated with a structured approach to work
- Identify and analyse problems by interpreting data available
- A team player with an ability to communicate with all levels
Essential knowledge and expertise required to undertake the role.
- Administration of Microsoft Windows 10 or later
- Administration of Windows Server 2019 or later in a Microsoft Remote Desktop Services environment, including Active Directory and Group Policy Management.
- Patch management
- End user support of Office 365
- Microsoft Entra / Microsoft 365 Administration in a hybrid environment
- Exchange Online administration
- Mitel PABX administration
Preferred working knowledge of:
- Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) or similar
- MS SQL Server administration
- SharePoint administration
- Mimecast Administration
Essential - Experience and qualifications
- Experience of working as part of a small team supporting IT for a professional organisation
- 'A' levels + 6 years' relevant experience OR appropriate degree + 4 years' relevant experience
- Relevant systems administration or networking certification
