Our client seeks an Assistant Manager to join their High and Medium Impact Division (HMI).
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with effective and efficient supervision of high and medium impact firms.
  • Assist HMI completing all deliverables and support other Divisions as may be required.
  • Manage the adherence to timeframes imposed on regulated entities and support any remedial measures.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the systems, procedures and controls.
  • Assist in preparing risk assessments for regulated entities.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing potential risk trends and supervisory themes.
  • Assist in undertaking of internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Participate in inspections of regulated entities.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulated sectors, individual entities, regulatory agencies, relevant industry bodies and government agencies.
  • Ensure that enquiries (including complaints against regulated entities) are dealt with timely and efficiently in a courteous and constructive manner.
  • Produce and otherwise assist with the production of papers and reports on various matters and periodic reports to the Board.
  • Support the HMI Manager/Senior Manager as may be required.
  • Contribute to introduction of new or amended legislation, guidance, policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements remain appropriate and comply with international standards.
  • Volunteer/take on additional projects/tasks to support HMI and carry out any other duties as required.
 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Holds, or is working towards, a professional qualification relevant to the financial services industry.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Relevant finance sector industry experience in an operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role.
  • A working knowledge of Financial Services and associated legislation, regulation and guidance.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, a flexible attitude and the ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to prepare, and actively participate in meetings with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage a workload of varied complexity, to manage competing priorities and to deliver against deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge in relation to risk and risk frameworks would be desirable.
