Client Accountant

Our client seeks a Senior Client Accountant to join their team.  
   
Role Profile:  To provide accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients. Preparation of periodic financial reporting in accordance with relevant accounting and industry standards and providing assistance and advice on accounting related matters generally. Liaison with clients, external accountant and auditors as necessary. Reporting to the Head of Accounts.  
   
Key Responsibilities:
  • Keeping up to date accounting records for client entities, paying particular attention to bank statements, agreements, invoices, contracts and other documents signed by an entity
  • Liaising with the IOM Administration Team on accounts queries
  • Preparing annual financial statements, solvency tests, asset statements and other ad-hoc financial reporting with accuracy and completeness
  • Preparation of tax returns for UK property holding with HMRC, IOM tax returns and any other relevant tax return
  • Acting as the primary contact for clients/administrators for clients under their direct responsibility as appropriate
  • Responding promptly to customer's enquiries, being present in video conference client meetings where required and ensuring all appropriate actions are being taken to ensure client satisfaction
  • Providing first contact technical assistance to the accounting team as required
  • Maintaining an awareness of changes to the relevant financial, legal and regulatory framework within which the company operates.
  • To complete and input time in the time-billing system on a daily basis
  • Any other duties as may be required from time to time in accordance with the demands of the role
  • In all aspects of your role, display and adhere to the vision and values of Client Focus, Excellence in Execution, Integrity, Innovation, Value, Development and Leadership
  • Guide, support, encourage and develop team in line with the company's People Management Framework
  • Assume role of Health & Safety Officer for local region, supporting all Health & Safety matters including but not limited to:
  • Ensuring H&S artefacts such as First Aid Kits, Defibrillators, Fire Extinguishers, Signage etc are present and within date of expiration/servicing
  • Maintenance of H&S documentation such as Fire Evacuation Plans, Staff register for Fire Plan, Floor Plans, Accident Register etc
  • Ensuring adequate cover and training for key H&S roles such as First Aider, Fire Marshall and Fire Warden
  • Carry out Risk Assessments as required
  • Ensuring that Covid19 Safety protocols are in place
 
Key Skills and Experience:   
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., ACCA) or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent team player and willing to go the extra mile
  • Ability to deal with complex issues in a timely and proactive manner
