Our client seeks an experienced Compliance Manager & DMLRO to join their team.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned compliance professional to play a key role in protecting the business, influencing regulatory strategy, and shaping a strong culture of compliance.
 
Key Responsibilities:  
  • Provide compliance support across the Group, ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Hold the Isle of Man FSA-appointed Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) role for the Class 1 licence holder, supporting and deputising for the MLRO.
  • Maintain effective controls to mitigate financial crime, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, implementing changes to policies, procedures, and business practices.
  • Review and manage Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), respond to law enforcement requests, and liaise with regulators and competent authorities.
  • Identify compliance risks, support monitoring and testing programmes, and oversee remediation of identified issues.
  • Maintain regulatory registers, prepare regulatory returns, and support risk reporting and governance activities.
  • Provide compliance advice to the business, including support for projects, higher-risk relationships, marketing approvals, and regulatory inspections.
  • Deliver compliance training, promote a strong risk and compliance culture, and support the Risk Management Framework.
  • Ensure complaints handling meets Isle of Man and UK regulatory requirements while maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders across the business.
 
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification, or have demonstrable relevant industry experience (for example in Financial Crime Compliance, Compliance, Risk, Audit).  
  • Working knowledge of IOMFSA Rules.  
  • Systematic approach to work with demonstrable ability to work independently and deliver to deadline, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Regulatory change management - ability to assess impact, produce implementation plans, track actions to closure, and evidence embedding (policies, controls, training, quality assurance).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Practical understanding of CDD/EDD, PEPs, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring oversight, SAR decisioning/escalation pathways.
  • Stakeholder management being able to confidently challenge 1st line whilst maintaining constructive relationships.  
  • Experience coordinating with internal/external audit, responding to findings, and evidencing closure.
  • Working knowledge of the UK FCA and PRA Rules, particularly in relation to Banking and lending would be desirable.
