Our client seeks a Finance Assistant to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or newly qualified who wants to develop within a fast-moving, commercially focused finance function.
You'll work closely with the Head of Finance, supporting management accounts production, month-end journals, variance analysis, and budgeting and forecasting across two product-focused business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post month-end transaction-based journals relating to product-line activity.
- Support variance analysis and produce clear commentaries on management accounts and key financial information.
- Assist in the preparation and production of product profit and loss accounts, including monthly financial reports and ad hoc financial reporting requests.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for relevant general ledger codes.
- Prepare and validate purchase requests and check accounts payable expense invoices.
- Coordinate and help develop internal financial reports, maintaining the internal reporting control summary and ensuring timely delivery.
- Assist product managers in the preparation of monthly forecasts.
- Interact with cross-functional teams and the wider finance function to meet monthly deadlines and resolve accounting issues.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation; drive improvements to existing processes and controls.
- Support initiatives to improve product profits and profit margins.
- Assist in the processing and production of billing processes.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a similar financial or accounting role.
- Studying finalist for ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or newly qualified / qualified by experience.
- Strong analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
- Familiarity with IoT, roaming, managed services, data centres or connectivity sectors is advantageous.
- Previous experience working with Sage X3 or a similar ERP system is desirable.
