Our client seeks a skilled and knowledgeable Head of Compliance to lead their team.
 
This is a senior leadership role suited to a confident professional who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on management, supporting the Board and senior stakeholders while ensuring the business continues to meet its regulatory obligations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the Compliance function and overseeing all regulatory matters.
  • Acting as MLRO, DPO and designated officer roles (where applicable).
  • Providing strategic advice and guidance to the Board, delivering clear insights on regulatory change, risk exposure, and emerging compliance themes.
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing compliance frameworks, internal policies, procedures and controls to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Overseeing all internal compliance monitoring, due diligence, reporting and audit activity, ensuring appropriate escalation of identified risks.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and advising on impacts.
  • Managing client risk assessments, onboarding, due diligence, AML/CFT oversight.
  • Acting as the primary contact for regulators and external stakeholders, maintaining a strong and transparent relationship.
  • Preparing reports for the Board, regulators, and relevant authorities.
  • Manage and mentor the compliance team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating closely with teams across jurisdictions to support business growth safely and responsibly by providing practical solutions and risk-based recommendations.
  • Ownership of staff CPD and training, coordinating a structured training programme across the business to support competency, professional development, and regulatory requirements.
 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Relevant professional qualifications (ICA, AML/CFT diploma, STEP, legal background) will be highly advantageous.
  • Significant compliance experience within a TCSP or regulated financial services environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate, trust, AML/CFT, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in a senior or leadership compliance role.
  • Confidence in managing regulatory relationships and audits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate.
  • The ability to balance commerciality with regulatory requirements.
  • A positive, calm, solution-driven approach.
  • A willingness to embrace a unique culture and contribute to a supportive team.
