Our client seeks a Senior Compliance Administrator to join their team.
 
Role Profile:  As the Senior Compliance Administrator and Data Protection Officer ('DPO') you will support the Head of Compliance and MLRO with managing the existing team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements, enabling the continued provision of a strong framework of internal controls and best practice guidance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Handling queries from members of staff and providing recommendations and guidance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Conduct regular data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments
  • Train employees on data protection policies and best practices
  • Handle data subject requests (e.g., access, rectification, deletion).
  • Cooperate with regulatory authorities and act as the main contact for data protection matters.
  • Ensure timely reporting and management of data breaches, including notification to authorities and affected parties.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with data protection laws.
  • Monitor and track data protection risks and implement corrective actions
  • Risk Cycle File Reviews
  • Review of KYC / CDD received for individuals and / or entities connected to client entities (e.g. new and existing clients, power of attorneys, beneficiaries, directors)
  • Conducting screening checks on individuals and / or entities
  • Conducting general internet searches on individuals and / or entities
  • Confirming KYC / CDD complies with internal policy and procedures and also legal/regulatory requirements
  • Addressing any potential deficiencies with KYC / CDD
  • PEP screening and Enhanced Due Diligence activities
  • Assisting with process and procedure drafting
  • Assisting with internal audit and monitoring activities
  • Assisting with New Business Screening
  • Promote a positive governance and compliance culture at all levels throughout the business
 
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 A-C or ( 4-9) passes at GCSE level. To include Maths and English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages (Good working Knowledge of Excel)
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of compliance and regulatory environment
  • Good working knowledge of offshore trust and corporate structures
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good planning, problem-solving & organisation skills
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks accordingly
  • An interest and commitment to ongoing professional development and training/ already working towards an ICA accreditation
  • Excellent discretion, judgment, and organisational skills, and be able to initiate projects with minimal instigation or oversight.
  • High-levels of integrity, ethical conduct and confidentiality.
