Our client seeks a Senior Technical Application Specialist to join their team.
You will be the go-to technical expert, bridging Business, Operations and Engineering teams while leading complex analysis and solution design. This role offers the chance to champion low-code platforms, mentor colleagues, and shape technical strategy across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will bring deep application expertise, a passion for automation and low-code innovation, and the confidence to lead technical direction across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior technical SME and trusted specialist for applications across the Group.
- Analyse complex business and customer problems and design fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
- Lead technical analysis, impact assessments and root cause investigations for incidents and change.
- Champion the use of enterprise tooling, low-code platforms and automation to improve outcomes.
- Evaluate, recommend and lead proofs of concept for new technologies, tools and methodologies.
- Oversee and support the implementation of complex technical solutions with expert guidance.
- Ensure specialist solutions align with Group technology direction through stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to the development of technical strategy, standards and best practice.
- Mentor and coach colleagues, building technical capability and maturity.
- Foster innovation and influence future ways of working through thought leadership.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong technical expertise across core banking and digital platforms.
- Experience with Internet Banking (.NET), iOS and Android mobile apps, Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Proficiency with Power Platform and RPA tooling for automation solutions.
- Experience acting as an Application SME with deep understanding of system architecture.
- Knowledge of integrations, data flows, dependencies and system limitations.
- Experience designing event-driven data solutions and configuring Kafka topics.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into clear technical designs.
- Experience as the specialist for third-party SaaS and low-code tools driving adoption.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to recommend secure, scalable solutions.
- Experience modernising legacy technologies with supported enterprise solutions (desirable).
- Exposure to Java or Python in context of event streaming or API integration (desirable).
- Familiarity with data visualisation, dashboards or AI-enabled tooling (desirable).
