Our client seeks a Portfolio Supervision Officer to join their team
 
Role Profile:  Ensure that effective controls, processes and supervisory activity are in place for the efficient supervision of regulated entities within the Portfolio Supervision Division and supports the delivery of the risk-based Methodology Framework.  
  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the effective and efficient supervision of regulated entities within the Portfolio Supervision Division.  
  • Assist Portfolio Supervision in completing all supervisory and operational deliverables.
  • Support Portfolio Supervision, as well as other Divisions, as may be required.   
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Portfolio Supervision Division.   
  • Ensure all supervisory matters, such as notifications, breaches, meetings and other general supervision matters are logged accurately, risk rated where required and escalated in accordance with Division procedures.   
  • Support the effective operation of the Division's licence-holder interaction processes, including oversight of shared inboxes, and telephone enquiries.  
  • Review regulatory returns submitted by regulated entities, identifying anomalies, breaches or potential concerns, and ensuring appropriate supervisory responses, corrective actions and follow-up activity are undertaken under the guidance of senior staff.  
  • Support the team in preparing documentation and information for supervisory inspections, desk-based reviews, thematic reviews and business meetings.
  • Participate in supervisory inspections of regulated entities in accordance with the Supervisory Methodology Framework.  
  • Attend meetings as appropriate, assisting with notetaking, action monitoring and follow-up activities.  
  • Assist in drafting papers, meeting notes, summaries, correspondence and other supervisory documentation under the guidance of senior staff.  
  • Assist in the maintenance and accuracy of supervisory records and data held within Atlas, online reporting systems, intelligence systems and other databases.  
  • Support the monitoring and quality assurance of information received from regulated entities and ensure records are complete, accurate and up to date.   
  • Assist in responding to enquiries from the public and complaints in a professional, courteous and timely manner.  
  • Help coordinate communications and information requests with other Divisions, regulated entities and external stakeholders.  
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of supervisory processes, procedures, controls and record-keeping practices.  
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning.  
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably required.  
 
Key Skills and Experience:   
  • Educated to GCSE level or above and/or equivalent qualification.  
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training or qualifications as and when required.  
  • Experience of working in the financial services industry.  
  • Experience of working within an office environment and/or as part of a team.  
  • Experience of taking detailed notes/minutes for meetings.  
  • An interest in, and working knowledge of, Financial Services and associated legislation, regulation and guidance.  
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Strong organisational skills, including accuracy, attention to detail and record keeping and filing.  
  • Ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.  
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information and to summarise the information effectively.  
  • Ability to assist in preparing, participating in, and documenting meetings with senior stakeholders internally and externally.  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.   
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality at all times.  
  • Ability to provide administrative support as needed.
