Underwriting Analyst

Our client seeks an Underwriting Analyst to join their team for 6 months.
Role Summary: An absolutely fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. You will be responsible for underwriting both partners and customers and ensure risk to the business is minimised. Additionally, you will be working closely with the Sales team to help the business grow by providing underwriting and commercial support. We are looking for someone with strong business acumen, a logical problem solver, attention to detail and the ability to digest and interpret multiple streams of information to make key judgements and decisions.
The ideal candidate will be analytically and numerically strong with the ability to make objective decisions. Strong communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing new applications to determine risk profile and providing summary reports to key stakeholders in the business
- Maintaining current knowledge of client base to ensure data is always accurate and up to date.
- Interpreting credit risk information to make informed decision around credit approvals.
- Supporting the business by being a key person relied upon to make risk-based decisions
- Review funding requests using various analytical techniques to maximise commercial success
- Build and maintain key business reports related to risk
- Day to day management of key business processes to ensure credit approvals and funding requests are processed quickly and efficiently.
Key Attributes
- Common sense and business acumen gained from working in a commercial environment
- Numerically strong and analytical
- Must be able to operate independently with minimum supervision
- Experience of underwriting, credit checking would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Excel is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Finance and accounting would be beneficial.
